Creating a Future of Coexistence Between Humans and Nature
Living in Harmony with Nature
Protecting Okinawa’s rich natural environment means protecting our future. Preserving beautiful coastlines and making good use of resources all depend on our individual awareness and actions. Step by step, we can work together to create a better future for the next generation.
Protecting Okinawa’s beautiful coastline today means protecting our future. Every small action we take helps pass a healthier ocean on to the next generation.

Environmental Protection
Through this activity, you can directly witness the problem of floating garbage and plastics in the sea. This experience helps you deeply understand the current state of environmental destruction and serves as an opportunity to strengthen your awareness of and consideration for the environment.
By seeing trash and plastic drifting in the ocean with your own eyes, environmental issues feel much more real. Even small actions become the first step toward protecting the sea.

Education
Children feel the seriousness of environmental problems firsthand through picking up garbage on the beach. This practical, on-site experience, which cannot be obtained just by learning in the classroom, changes children’s awareness and plays an important role in nurturing a generation that values the environment.
Cleaning the beach gives children a hands-on way to understand how serious environmental issues are. It turns what they learn in class into real experience.

Community
Participants with various backgrounds, ages, and nationalities work together. This collaboration not only creates new friendships and connections but also deepens relationships with existing friends and family. Working together and helping each other strengthens bonds within the community.
Working side by side with people of different ages and backgrounds creates new connections and deepens bonds with family and friends.

International Exchange
Joint activities with American volunteers and participants from other countries deepen understanding and respect across cultures. Cooperating toward a shared goal, beyond differences in language and culture, becomes a valuable international exchange experience and an opportunity to broaden participants’ perspectives.
Joining activities with American and other international volunteers is a great chance to learn about different cultures and broaden your perspective.
Achievements
Through Churakids’ beach cleanup activities, we have collected a total of 1,885 bags of trash so far. Your participation will help grow this number. Let’s protect Okinawa’s beaches together!
