A bus trip to a place you can’t usually get into — the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) Naha Air Base. Kids gear up in a real fire suit, take a turn with the fire hose, and get up close to an F-15J fighter jet in the hangar. Lunch is served at the base dining hall, so there’s no need to pack one. Along the way, they get a hands-on look at the work that keeps people safe — plus a thoughtful stop on history and peace.

About JASDF Naha Air Base

Right next to Naha Airport, the JASDF Naha Air Base helps keep Okinawa’s skies safe. On this trip, kids get a hands-on demo from the firefighting & rescue crew, try on a real fire suit, take a turn with the fire hose, and tour the hangar to see an F-15J fighter jet up close. It’s a rare, behind-the-gates day — and a chance to meet the people who do the job.

Participation

• Capacity: 21 children (first-come)
• Fee: Non-SOFA $80 / SOFA $70 (incl. bus, base tour & lunch)
• Sibling discount: 10% off 2nd child, 20% off 3rd and beyond
• What to bring: change of clothes / towel / water bottle / hat (water activity — they’ll get wet; no need to pack lunch)
• Payment: complete online (credit card) via the Sign Up button.
• Cancellation: full refund up to 3 days before, 50% for 2-1 days before, no refund on the day.

*This is a weekday (Tuesday) event, mainly for children on summer break — such as those at international and on-base schools — and anyone else who’s available.

A. Yes — it’s kids only. Churakids staff lead and supervise the group all day.

A. July 7 (Tue) is a weekday, so it’s mainly for children on summer break — including international and on-base schools. Anyone available is welcome to join.

Q. How do we pay?

A. Payment is completed online (credit card) via the Sign Up button.

Q. Will my child get wet?

A. Most likely — there’s a fire-hose activity, so pack a change of clothes and a towel.

Q. Do we need a packed lunch?

A. No — lunch is served at the base dining hall.

Q. We have allergies / special needs.

A. Please note them on the registration form. Staff will share the information and accommodate where possible.

Q. What’s the cancellation policy?

A. Full refund up to 3 days before, 50% for 2-1 days before, no refund on the event day.
