Robotics Class
Next Trial Session: SAT.JAN.18, 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM
Robotics Class
Children unlock critical thinking and independent learning skills in this robotics class. Through hands-on activities, they transform their creative ideas into reality. Taught in both English and Japanese, the program offers a bilingual environment that inspires global perspectives.
Robot Building and Cultural Exchange
Children enhance their robotics skills while enjoying unique opportunities to learn Japanese and engage with local Japanese children. By actively assembling robots, they gain hands-on engineering experience and learn basic Japanese phrases and instructions in a practical context. This immersive environment fosters cultural understanding, teamwork, and creativity, supporting their overall growth and providing a meaningful cross-cultural experience.
Course Guide
Pre-primary Course
Age: 4-5 years | Course duration: 1 year
A starter course focused on letting children experience the joy and wonder of creating functional robots at their own pace through small, manageable steps.
Primary Course
Age: Early Elementary School | Course duration: 1 year
Students gain an intuitive understanding of mechanisms such as motors. The course uses easy-to-follow texts with parts displayed in actual size.
Basic Course
Age: Elementary School | Course duration: 2 years
Children deepen their understanding of mechanisms and structures as they accurately complete robots using the provided texts. They also learn to modify robots and create their own designs.
Middle Course
Age: Elementary School | Course duration: 2 years
Students build more complex robots. Programming using a mini tablet is introduced, enabling precise control of robot movements.
Advanced Course
Age: Upper Elementary and above | Course duration: 2 years
Students create autonomous robots using programming. They develop advanced skills by interpreting and constructing robots based on diagrams.
Robotics Professor Course
Age: Upper Elementary to Junior High | Course duration: 3 years
This course introduces practical programming languages and fundamental robotics engineering concepts, paving the way for the next generation of engineers.
Monthly Schedule
In two 90-minute classes per month, students build one robot. In the first class, they complete the basic assembly and experience the joy of accomplishment, fostering interest in science and math. In the second class, they refine their robots, tackling challenges like “How to make it faster?” or “How to increase its strength?” through problem-solving and friendly competition. At the end of the month, students present their creations.
Journals
Students in the robot class create blueprints and journals for their robots and present them monthly. These journals record their learning process, including the points they devised and their original ideas. Here, we showcase some of the journals created by our students.
